Cricket Wireless Gets First Android Phone: Everything You Need to Know About the Muve Music Plan

In late 2010 at CES 2011, Cricket unveiled Muve Music, the carriers own music streaming service alongside the $199 Samsung Suede SCH-r710 which was the first phone to support Muve Music and included a 4GB SD Card to store music on.[12] Muve Music was initially included in its own $55 plan but was later expanded to all plans as a $5 add-on before being included in all plans free-of-charge.[13] The music service was deemed by Cricket as a major success and credited with helping drive up at least 100,000 new subscribers in the course of a few months.[14] Muve Music originally required an SD Card with a capacity of at least 4GBs to download music, the ability to do so without an SD Card was introduced in version 4.0 of Muve Music but required an internal storage capacity of at least 4GBs. Muve Music 4.0 was officially unveiled on the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Discover while the Samsung Galaxy Admire would ship with version 3.5 but was upgradeable to version 4.0.[15] At its peak, the service was the biggest music streaming service in regards to paying customers with a customer base of 2.3 million users and was hinted in making appearances in international markets such as in Brazil.[16] The fate of the service was put in doubt after the acquisition of Crickets parent company, Leap Wireless, by AT&T and was rumored to be merged with AT&Ts own Beats Music service or possibly left as-is. AT&T expressed a lack of interest in maintaining the service and discontinued it in May 2014. AT&T made Muve Music inaccessible to any new phone purchased after the merger but allowed legacy handsets bought before the merger to access the service.[17] The service was acquired by Deezer for $100 million and formally shut down on February 7, 2015. Deezer offered all Cricket customers a discounted $6 plan which was made available on January 31, 2015.[18] Cricket offers a variety of phones including most of the latest iPhone and Android models.

Here's a case of how an OS upgrade can transform a cell phone. When we first tested the Sanyo Zio on Cricket Wireless ($229, 2.5 stars) last September, we found a sluggish, frustrating device with an ancient version of Android. With Android 2.2 "Froyo," the Zio, while still flawed, is a much more viable smartphone. The plastic screen is still a problem, so we suggest you try it out first, and the Zio is still outmatched by the better LG Optimus C ($179.99, 4 stars). But now it's a much more usable, viable smartphone.

Cricket's featured iPhone deal continues to be the iPhone SE 2020. The 64GB model is now available for free online to switchers with the stipulation that your first 3-months of service must be paid in advance when the phone gets purchased. Cricket is requiring customers to signup for its flagship $60 unlimited plan to take advantage of the offer. Alternatively, the phone can be purchased for $49.99 in stores with only one month of service due with the purchase. The 128GB model is still available online for just $99.99. Here are the rest of Cricket's iPhone deals.

Cricket Wireless is a prepaid phone carrier owned by one of the nation's largest wireless providers, AT&T. Unlike T-Mobile with its 55+ phone plans, Cricket Wireless doesn't cater to older adults with discounted senior plans or phones designed for seniors. But that shouldn't stop you from considering Cricket Wireless as your next wireless provider.

I was also pleased to learn during checkout that Cricket offers free next-business-day shipping and no activation fees for SIM cards and phones purchased on the Cricket website. Plus, service taxes and fees are included in the monthly plan cost, so the advertised cost is actually what you're paying. That's transparency you don't always find from wireless companies.

Overall, this plan is our pick for older adults who plan to use their phones a lot, whether they're at home without Wi-Fi or frequently on the road. One thing worth noting is that, although this plan comes with unlimited high-speed data, Cricket does temporarily reduce data speeds if the network gets busy.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The iPhone has been for sale on all three of the largest U.S. cell phone networks for eight months now, but it hasn't been offered to the fastest growing segment of wireless customers: those without contracts.

Cricket is the sixth U.S. cell phone company to carry the iPhone, following AT&T (T, Fortune 500), Verizon (VZ, Fortune 500), Sprint (S, Fortune 500), Mississippi regional carrier C Spire and Virginia regional carrier nTelos (NTLS). But Cricket is the first low-cost, prepaid carrier to offer what has been considered the highest of high-end smartphones.

I've used Cricket Wireless for over a year now. Before this I actually used Metro By T-Mobile. When I compare both cellular companies I actually get better coverage almost where ever I go. Although where I live it's kind of slow sometimes but most of the time I'm able to do most of my things. Usually I need to have internet when I go to work in which cricket does the job. 100% of the time it works for me. When I used Metro where I used to work never gave me any coverage meaning that I had no service. In metro they charged me almost $200 for having three phones in my plan. Whereas in Cricket they charge me $130 a month for 3 phones. I personally think Cricket does a better job when it comes to providing coverage wherever you go. Although it may not be the best to load up YouTube videos and play games it still does a better job in coverage than in metro. Prices a a lot more cheaper for plans but it's a good cellular provider where I live.

The question I have is, are you certain about getting the certification(in the 7 weeks) or is it in limbo? If you do not get the certification are we able to return the phone for a refund, because it will be past return policy. Also are the 2e phones compatible with Hd voice because that is what cricket will change into next year.I have the first Teracube , asking for family member who got the 2e.

With Cricket Wireless you get a first-class nationwide wireless experience at a price that fits your life, without any annual contract. Shop for the latest cell phones, including iPhones, Android phones, and smartphones from Nokia and ZTE. Love your current phone? No problem! You can add it to the Cricket network.

I have the 5gb plan and have no problems anywhere I go in the US. Anyone use Cricket in Coz? Heading there next week and always had good coverage with Verizon but this will be my first trip with Cricket. Is it just ready to go? Decent data speeds? Any coverage on the east side of the island? Any help is appreciated. Unfortunately I usually have to take calls and emails for work on vacation and need to have decent access to my phone for calls, text, and data. Thanks in advance!

I have cricket wireless, BUT have not been to COZ since Cricket began offering Mexico service. I HAVE been to Play Del Carmen, (ta && ta.queueForLoad ? ta.queueForLoad : function(f, g)document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', f);)(function()ta.trackEventOnPage('postLinkInline', 'impression', 'postLinks-72344928', '');, 'log_autolink_impression');Cancun, Valladolid, Mahahual,Tulum etc. on the peninsula and it has been excellent. Once the plane lands, the service automatically turns to Telcel. Telcel is one of the more widely used carrier services in Mexico. On one occasion, it did not turn automatically to Telcel and I simply turned the phone off and then back on and the service auto turned to Telcel. So...as long as there is Telcel service on COZ you are good to go-although in some locations, my husband's phone (android) received some other carrier (for a short period of time) while in Mexico. As another poster stated, Cricket was purchased by AT&T and so you are using AT&T cell towers. I remember reading that AT&T also purchased and/or has an agreement with carrier in mexico. 2ff7e9595c
